Subject: The Best Part is Missing
By today’s standards, aviator Flash Norris is a bullying jerk, but the film builds him up as a hero. He clips a guy for a little smart mouthing at a carnival, then knocks an old man to the ground, then clears himself in police court with lies and smarm. What strange idea for a hero, even in 1933. I wanted him to crash and burn in the first five minutes of the film, but was so astonished at what I was watching; I just had to stay on to see if he would get his comeuppance.

Aviator Flash Norris falls for the spoiled daughter of a bank president, they become conditionally engaged (her conditions), she uses the vaginal wrench to make him give up flying and work in daddy’s bank, he hates it of course and ends up taking a swing at a vice president, gets fired, then is accused of embezzling $10,000, is headed for jail, becomes anathema to daddy and his shrewd little girl, and then the real action starts. Today it is impossible to develop sympathy for this jerk or his conniving fiancé, which would help the film plot, but we know too much.

Throughout the film, I imagined their future marriage with her making his life hell by constantly reminding him what an abject failure he was because he could never support her in the style daddy did, and him beating the crap out of her in return – because how else can a violent, frustrated bully respond? But that wasn’t in the movie. If it was, it would have been the best part. Flash is no hero and a marriage like this would be pure poetic justice.

Great print and sound.

Subject: Much better than expected..
A young hot head pilot, Flash gets fired by the same guy repeatedly then meets a bank president's daughter who gets him a job at the bank. While there he irritates most everyone, but the VP has been embezzling money for some time and tries to pin it all on Flash.
Script is good if not somewhat unrealistic, but it moves along at a great pace, acting is above average and the print is top shelf..Very entertaining stuff. It almost reminds me of me if I could have ever learned to fight worth a darn or fly or meet bank presidents daughters or act.
